#appearence

Amara’s beauty is not of the kind sung in taverns or painted in honeyed tones. It is a beauty carved from restraint and ruin, something deliberate, sculpted, and quietly arresting. She carries herself with the composure of one long accustomed to being watched, yet never fully seen. Every movement is precise, every stillness calculated, the bearing of a woman who learned long ago that poise can be both armor and weapon. Amara is well known for her beauty as she is for her charm. Loose waves of raven black tresses are always meticulously curled, teased into cascading locks that sweep along prominent cheekbones, adding contrast to the pale-rose hue of her complexion. Her face is a delicate architecture of contradictions, high, proud cheekbones softened by a mouth too expressive for her own liking, a small but fair and shapely nose, and lips proud and sculpted, their natural tint deepening with emotion or subtle pigments. Cast in the fires of silent mischief and curiosity, her eyes are vividly mismatched, one of her most striking features. The left gleams silver-chrome, luminous as a waxing gibbous, the right a storm-cloud grey tinted like a blue moon’s shadow, penetrating and commanding, simultaneously warm and imperious. Naturally sharp, dark brows rest above long lashes that frame almond-shaped eyes, lightly lined to enrich their already vivid color. Her gaze can sour a mood with a glance yet more often radiates warmth, curiosity, and a subtle charm that draws others into a false sense of security. Her hair falls in fine, silken curls darker than obsidian, often escaping the elegant restraint she imposes. A braid may unravel down her back or strands curl around her temples. When let loose, her hair gleams like captured moonlight; when bound, it reveals the strong line of her neck and the faint lattice of scars just below her collarbone. A worn scar crosses her right brow, a testament to her survival and the trials she has endured. Her build is willowy rather than frail, the strength of a swordswoman disguised by the poise of a scholar. She stands at an extraordinary height of six feet seven, a proud tale of her heritage and the Aen Elle blood coursing through her veins. Lean but undeniably shapely, her figure carries gentle curves that speak of femininity tempered by discipline. Her breasts are full and rounded, proportionate to her tall frame, neither overwhelming nor delicate, complementing the lines of her waist and hips in a natural, elegant harmony. Her form is further accentuated by clothing often composed of deep, vibrant colors such as dark green, red, and purple, lighter shades reserved only for necessity or ceremony. Her posture is effortlessly straight, her gestures economical, and her body reflects the precision and resilience honed through decades of travel, battle, and magical mastery.Amara’s skin bears the marks of a life lived in peril and devotion. She carries the scars of her fleeting capture by Witch Hunters, a mixture of small and extensive marks spanning her lower back, with a larger scar beginning at the edge of her hip and running across her back to the start of her ribs. A more prominent scar runs down her neck toward her right shoulder, while pale lines trace her knuckles and palms, remnants of her encounters with violence. A poorly healed scar rests at the center of her left thigh, and a faint mark traces her ribs. Her tattoos are both symbolic and deeply personal: a falcon along the inside of her upper right arm, an angelfish on the back of her elbow in honor of Lytta Neyd, and a traditional Zerrikanian design on her inner left thigh. Both ears are pierced multiple times, and her right nipple bears a piercing. Her voice is low, clear, and measured, rarely raised yet always commanding attention. It carries the rhythm of someone accustomed to giving counsel rather than asking for favors. When she laughs, a rare and quiet sound, it feels precious and unexpected, as though she has briefly forgotten herself.Amara dresses as though every layer is an act of intention, merging elven elegance with human pragmatism. Structured bodices in deep, moody hues are softened by silks, embroidered cuffs, and high collars fastened with faintly enchanted brooches. In court, her gowns mirror her discipline, regal but never ostentatious. In the field, she wears enchanted leathers layered with subtle runic-etched armor for protection. Always, she carries a faint scent of ozone and white sage, the perfume of lightning before rain. Her presence lingers long after she is gone. Rooms feel quieter in her wake, air thinner. She does not demand attention, she curates it. There is something magnetic in her stillness, as if beneath the restraint lies a tempest capable of unmaking the world should she ever choose to stop controlling it.

#personality

Amara moves through the world as one who has seen its patterns, its fractures, and its fleeting moments of grace. She is not easily startled, nor easily swayed. Her presence carries weight not through volume or theatrics but through the unspoken command of someone who knows both the beauty and the cruelty of existence. She is deliberate in thought, measured in speech, and precise in action, a woman who has learned that restraint can be sharper than any blade. Her temperament is a rare fusion of reflection and will. She is contemplative, strategic, and endlessly patient, a mind that maps out a hundred moves before committing to one. Beneath that calm lies ambition and force, the kind that will bend circumstances to her design when necessity demands it. She is not reckless, yet she harbors a streak of daring, a willingness to test the law and order of the world around her, seeing both structure and chaos as tools to be mastered. She recognizes that through decisive action and passion, change can emerge, and through order, both peace and upheaval may coexist.Amara is enigmatic to most, exuding warmth without indulgence, charm without frivolity. She draws people in with effortless grace, a quiet magnetism, and a gaze that measures what is essential in everyone she encounters. Her empathy is selective but profound, revealing itself in subtle acts rather than loud displays. Beneath her composure beats a strong heart for chaos, a resolute belief in maintaining agency and protecting herself from the suffering she endured in childhood. Friendships are shared cautiously, loyalty earned, and her protection extends towering and absolute, granting her both upper hand and security in a world that has often demanded survival at any cost. Her intelligence is formidable yet never ostentatious. She observes, analyzes, and anticipates, weaving insights into both strategy and conversation. Her curiosity spans the arcane, the political, and the human. She reads motives, desires, and fears with precision, and she trusts her judgment even when outcomes are uncertain. Yet intellect is coupled with instinct and impulsive daring: she is as intrepid as she is impetuous, adaptable in nearly any circumstance. She is no stranger to danger, brawls, or high-stakes risk, and she meets even mortal peril without fear, viewing life as a challenge to be tested and conquered.Amara’s inner world is complex and guarded. She has endured grief, loss, and betrayal, shaping her restraint and her control. She loves fiercely yet cautiously, rarely allowing vulnerability to be seen, and revealing the rarest glimpses of warmth only to those who have earned her trust. Her passions are tempered with prudence, a blend of fire and calculation, yet her mischief and playfulness remain — she can be deliberately provocative, impish, and charming, using wit, audacity, or subtle chaos to shape interactions. Her relationship with power is emblematic of her character. She does not seek dominance for its own sake but wields influence and authority with precision, understanding both its utility and its cost. Magic, diplomacy, and physical skill are tools she masters, not trinkets for display. She respects them as living forces, knowing their danger and beauty. She navigates dangerous waters with calculated charm and theatrical ease, capable of adopting multiple personas, outmaneuvering kings, and evading vengeance while remaining ethically guided: she steals only from the wealthy and cruel, never the innocent or vulnerable.Under stress or threat, Amara becomes icily precise. Her voice flattens, movements become economical, and her gaze sharpens, cutting through pretense and chaos alike. She rarely loses control, but when she does, her fury is deliberate and methodical, leaving silence and consequence rather than disarray. Her paradox is compelling: approachable yet untouchable, warm yet imperious, kind yet ruthless when necessary. She is a woman who has learned to survive by mastering both herself and the world, revealing glimpses of her rare, unguarded self — a mind that delights in knowledge, a heart that feels deeply, and a spirit that refuses to be diminished.

#psyche

Amara’s mind is a labyrinth, structured yet mercurial, where thought and instinct intertwine like coiling rivers. She processes the world as both strategist and philosopher, analyzing every gesture, every word, every shadow of intent. Nothing goes unnoticed, nothing wasted; even silence carries meaning, and every interaction is a puzzle to be understood and mapped. Her intellect is prodigious, and her intuition, tempered by decades of survival and trauma, often guides her past what reason alone can reveal. She is always thinking, always calculating, her mind a constant hum of patterns, possibilities, and contingencies. Her emotions are contained but never absent. Pain, grief, and betrayal have been cataloged, examined, and stored as tools or warnings, yet they linger in quiet corners, shaping her choices and perceptions. Love, loyalty, and trust are her most dangerous vulnerabilities, for they pierce the armor she has built. When she allows herself attachment, it is absolute, consuming, and capable of breaking her own self-imposed rules. She possesses a desperate desire to be wanted and loved, a residue of neglect and abuse, yet her instincts are trained to protect herself first. She distances herself from most emotional engagement, but bonds that survive her scrutiny endure across lifetimes.Amara embodies charisma and confidence with the ease of someone born to command attention, whether in a boisterous crowd or in solitude. This natural poise supports her curious, restless nature and her ability to handle conflict with ease, both personally and professionally. She is a visionary, always imagining the next steps, the possibilities of new combinations and solutions. Her intensity and single-minded focus can be imposing, her drive sometimes rubbing others the wrong way, but she is never careless; she balances ambition with meticulous planning and disciplined execution. Her morality is situational, a spectrum defined by necessity, consequence, and her personal code. Acts of cruelty are weighed against utility and inevitability; mercy is granted selectively, always intentionally. She possesses a stubborn hope for the better nature of humanity, even as she anticipates its worst impulses. She believes that even amid chaos, sparks of good can be found, and it is her responsibility, consciously or not, to nurture them. Her drive for justice and action is coupled with a love of challenge, whether intellectual, magical, or strategic, and she thrives in environments where her cunning, skill, and audacity are tested.Control is central to her psyche. Life has taught her that chaos preys on weakness and that vulnerability can be fatal. She masters her own impulses, fear, and doubt before seeking to influence the world around her. This self-discipline affords freedom and power but comes with a quiet burden: the constant need for vigilance can be isolating, and solitude is both sanctuary and prison. Her compulsions, whether linked to OCD or an extension of her PTSD, sharpen her control and focus, allowing her to execute plans with precision, but they also exact a personal cost, intensifying her inner tension and self-imposed expectations.Impulsivity and risk coexist with her calculated nature. She can act decisively in the moment, guided by instinct and desire, yet even her spontaneity is filtered through awareness of consequence. She is naturally playful, mischievous, and daring, a woman who delights in experiencing life fully even in dangerous circumstances. Her courage borders on recklessness, yet it is tempered by intelligence, strategy, and foresight.Amara is profoundly self-aware. She recognizes her contradictions—compassion and ruthlessness, patience and ambition, playfulness and solemnity—and integrates them as inseparable facets of her identity. She does not pretend to be simple or transparent; she is a storm wrapped in crystal, a mind layered with intent, desire, and unyielding discipline. She thrives on challenge, enjoys intellectual combat, and respects those capable of matching her wit, precision, and skill. Those who do earn her respect may also earn her rare warmth and loyalty. Her psyche is both weapon and sanctuary. It allows her to survive where others might falter, to find beauty in chaos, and to endure without surrender. She navigates life as both game and battlefield, leveraging intellect, instinct, and ambition in equal measure. Beneath the discipline and cunning pulses a heart that, though scarred and wary, yearns for connection, understanding, and resonance. She is vigilant, perceptive, and enigmatic, yet for those who glimpse it, there exists a rare, undeniable vitality—fierce, intelligent, and unbound.

#abilities and skills

Amara’s gifts are the result of centuries of study, experience, and survival. Her abilities bridge the refined discipline of formal magical training and the instinctive cunning of one who has learned to adapt, endure, and command. She is not merely a sorceress of considerable talent, but a strategist, linguist, and survivor, whose skills extend far beyond the arcane. Her magical ability is formidable and multifaceted. A master of arcane manipulation, Amara can harness elemental energies—fire, lightning, shadow—and shape them with precision. Her power is not wild or erratic but deliberate, the product of centuries refining control. Her command of ritual and symbolic magic is equally profound; she reads and inscribes ancient runes, sigils, and wards, often incorporating them into her work or subtly binding them into her jewelry, garments, or tattoos, many of which serve both practical and symbolic purposes. She is skilled in crafting enchantments and traps, conjuring portals, performing transfigurations, and weaving illusion or glamour when diplomacy demands it. Her illusions are not dramatic displays but carefully measured deceptions—alterations of light, tone, and perception that can mask her presence or subtly sway emotion and attention.A scholar of alchemy and potioncraft, Amara possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of reagents, minerals, and herbs. Her understanding of chemistry and magic allows her to create elixirs that heal, enhance, or harm. Her knowledge of herbology and curses is precise and practical, born from both scholarly pursuit and necessity. She can read the hum of magical energy in a place or object, attuned to the residue of spells and the shifting weave of chaos around her. Healing is among her quiet strengths; though not her primary art, she can mend wounds and ease ailments when required.Amara’s senses—sight, smell, hearing, and taste—are all heightened beyond mortal capacity, a side effect of her magical attunement. Her eyes can perceive subtle motion and faint traces of magic; her hearing can catch the rustle of a dagger leaving its sheath several paces away. These enhancements make her a natural hunter and observer, as well as a gifted archer, capable of tracking and surviving in wilderness or city alike. Her physical training matches her intellect. Though she stands a towering six foot seven, her movement is fluid and precise. Her size belies her agility; she is capable of swift dodges, silent movement, and controlled strikes. Amara has been trained in both swordsmanship and unarmed combat. The blade was her earliest teacher—learned first in childhood alongside her brothers, then refined in the orphanage where fighting was a matter of survival, and perfected later under the tutelage of swordmasters and mercenaries. She can wield a longsword or dual light blades with equal skill, and when disarmed, she adapts fluidly to daggers, throwing knives, or her own body as weapon. While her magic is her greatest asset, she understands its limits; dimeritium, wards, or exhaustion can render a mage helpless, and so she has learned to ensure she never is.Her hand-to-hand combat reflects intelligence rather than brute force. She uses the environment to her advantage, redirecting attacks, anticipating movement, and exploiting rhythm and balance. Her reflexes are honed, and her instincts—sharpened by years of close calls—rarely fail her. When forced into a corner, she fights with the same elegance she uses to cast: calculated, efficient, and unrelenting.Beyond combat, Amara’s survival skills are second nature. Her upbringing was marked by cruelty and deprivation, both of which forged resilience. She knows how to live off the land, find water, build shelter, and endure exposure. Her mind is her greatest weapon—she can outthink, outplan, and outlast most adversaries. Escape and evasion are arts she has perfected: when flight is the wiser choice, she can vanish into the alleys of any city or into the wilderness without a trace, aided by both her physical knowledge of terrain and the subtle use of teleportation to her many safe-houses. Those who hunt her quickly learn that to find Amara is not the same as to catch her.Her intellect and perception are legendary in courtly and academic circles alike. Raised among the scholars of Rissberg and later polished in the courts of kings, she has learned how to listen, network, and observe without drawing suspicion. She absorbs information constantly—every rumor, glance, or silence is potential intelligence. Years of intrigue have taught her that knowledge is power, and she gathers it through charm, wit, and quiet persistence. She is fluent in multiple tongues, versed in ancient and modern dialects alike, and can decipher coded scripts and archaic texts with ease. Her background in archaeology and historical research deepens her understanding of relics, ruins, and the artifacts of power that others overlook.Amara’s strategic mind is formidable. She sees both people and events as interconnected systems, predicting consequences and adapting her actions accordingly. In politics and warfare alike, she plans several moves ahead, though she is equally capable of improvisation when plans collapse. Her ability to read emotion and intent allows her to manipulate outcomes subtly, whether in a negotiation, a duel, or a royal audience. To her, every interaction is an exchange of energy and intent, and she plays it with the finesse of a seasoned diplomat. Her charisma is undeniable. Commanding yet elegant, she moves through social circles with confidence, easily shifting between roles—courtier, advisor, confidante, or scholar. She can disarm with a smile or unsettle with silence. Her leadership is measured, inspiring through intellect and composure rather than force. Those who serve or ally with her often do so out of respect for her competence and trust in her vision. Her greatest asset, however, is her adaptability. Whether in battle, in court, or in the wilderness, Amara’s instinct for survival and success never wanes. She reads a room as easily as she reads a storm, finding openings others cannot see. She thrives in uncertainty, turning chaos into advantage through observation, calculation, and daring.Yet her gifts come with cost. Her ambition and self-discipline can lead to overextension, and her relentless need for control makes vulnerability difficult. Her trust is rarely given, and betrayal cuts deep when it comes. Emotion, though buried under layers of logic and restraint, can still wound her profoundly. Despite her strength, her height and build can be cumbersome in tight quarters or stealth-heavy terrain. And though her endurance is remarkable, even she can be worn down by prolonged strain—physical, emotional, or magical.

#backstory

still being developed over time

Amara Ingrid Merwyn Trethevey was born on the storm-laden night of Imbaelk, 2nd February 913, a night when the heavens themselves seemed to rage in celebration of the elven festival marking the return of light after the long shadow of winter. Her birth in Gors Velen, a bustling port city nestled against the northern coast, was both unexpected and portentous. Gors Velen, with its spired towers, labyrinthine streets, and deep-seated elven history, had long been a favored stop for her mother, Maeralya Derae Aep Isolda, a Saevherne of Tir ná Lia. Surrounded by elves and architecture reminiscent of her own homeland, Maeralya often described the city as “a bridge between what is lost and what can be reclaimed.” To her, it was a reminder of the lands she missed most, and for Amara, it would become the stage for her earliest memories of wonder, instruction, and eventual tragedy. From the first moment of her life, Amara made her presence known. The midwinter storm rattled the city, yet inside the modest Trethevey residence, she arrived with a vitality that seemed almost elemental, her first cries cutting through thunder and rain. Maeralya, awestruck by the newborn’s vigor, nicknamed her “Gael,” likening her life-force to the winds that roared across the northern sea. Even the midwives and attendants commented that the girl seemed to have arrived as a force of nature, not merely a child. Her father, Aldous Trethevey, a Nilfgaardian black seidhe crossed with Aen Elle, studied her with the cautious scrutiny of a mage and the calculating mind of a strategist. Aldous, chosen by design for his exceptional intellect, arcane prowess, and potential for political influence, had long been paired with Maeralya to merge their powerful lineages—an intricate weaving of Elder Blood, magical aptitude, and strategic cunning intended to produce offspring who could surpass even the legends of old.Amara’s parentage ensured that from her earliest days, she was surrounded by expectation and instruction. She was the youngest of five children and the only daughter, a role that placed her at the heart of her family’s ambitions. Her brothers—stoic, fiercely competitive, and already well-trained in the disciplines of magic, combat, and diplomacy—became her earliest peers, tutors, and rivals. Even as a toddler, she demonstrated an innate curiosity and audacity that set her apart. No spell, artifact, or lesson was beyond her notice, and she pursued knowledge and play with equal fervor. Her mischievous streak was noted by all who observed her; she had the audacity to challenge her brothers in games of skill and strategy, often emerging victorious through a mix of cunning, daring, and instinctive understanding of both magic and human (or elven) behavior.Maeralya’s tutelage began long before Amara could form complete sentences. The young girl was taught to recognize the faint currents of Chaos that flowed invisibly through the air, to detect residual magic in objects, and to interpret the whispers of potential futures. Lessons were rigorous yet patient: genealogy, Elder Blood histories, ethics of power, diplomacy, and the subtle art of observation were all woven into her early life. Her mother believed that understanding the world—its people, its politics, and its hidden networks of power—was as vital as mastering magic. In Maeralya’s eyes, foresight and precision were inseparable from the raw force of talent, and Amara absorbed both with remarkable acuity.Aldous, though brilliant, was often absent. His political and magical duties to the Nilfgaardian Empire drew him away for months, sometimes years, at a time. When he did appear, his presence was measured, authoritative, and occasionally harsh. The young girl quickly learned that her father’s affection was tempered by his expectations, and that mischief could invite reprimand as swiftly as it inspired admiration. Yet even in this, Aldous unwittingly trained her: his perfectionism instilled resilience, his coldness honed her ability to navigate emotional landscapes, and his sporadic guidance taught her patience, cunning, and self-reliance.Despite—or perhaps because of—her father’s absences, Amara thrived in her mother’s company. Maeralya frequently brought her along on journeys and diplomatic visits, fostering an insatiable curiosity in the girl. Even at the age of three, Amara traveled extensively, exploring the Northern Kingdoms: Temeria, Redania, Aedirn, and beyond. She studied the customs of humans, the intricacies of elven society, and the subtleties of political hierarchies. She wandered forests, climbed ruins, and explored city streets, often inventing elaborate games and illusions to entertain herself and her siblings. These excursions were more than recreation; they were exercises in observation, creativity, and early magical application. Amara’s confidence and daring were remarkable for her age. She thrived on challenges, sought out danger deliberately, and delighted in outwitting her brothers or crafting tricks to amaze and confound. Her early life, however, was not without strain. Though surrounded by privilege and the guidance of extraordinary parents, the pressures of expectation and the unpredictability of her father’s absences created a subtle tension. The family could be whisked away at any moment for Aldous’ duties, leaving Amara feeling unmoored. Though Maeralya’s love was steadfast, it was often tempered by the need to maintain appearances and fulfill obligations. And though the home in Gors Velen was temporarily secure, the specter of political danger—common in her father’s life—was never far away.At age five, that precarious security shattered. A fire, deliberately set by unknown hands—enemies of Nilfgaard, political rivals, or perhaps agents with darker motives—engulfed their home. By the time the flames were extinguished, Amara had lost everything: her parents, her seven brothers, her home, and the life she had known. Orphaned and alone, she was sent to a human orphanage on the Temerian/Cidarian border, a place that would further shape the edge of her spirit. The orphanage was a hellscape of damp walls, leaking roofs, and meager food. Children were crammed into narrow, filthy rooms, subjected to emotional and physical abuse at the hands of the headmistress and the staff. Amara’s Aen Elle features—her height, her pale skin, and pointed ears—marked her as different, and she was subjected to constant bullying. Some children even attempted to cut her ears, leaving scars that she would bear for the rest of her life. Hunger became a daily reality, and Amara quickly adapted. She learned to steal, to observe patterns, and to manipulate situations to her advantage. Nights spent outside the orphanage, though perilous, were often safer than remaining within, teaching her that the darkness and its creatures could sometimes be more reliable than humans. In this crucible, her survival instincts sharpened: dexterity, observation, cunning, and hand-to-hand combat became second nature. Amara discovered that information itself could be currency, that small acts of cunning or persuasion could yield food, safety, or small luxuries. The trauma, deprivation, and cruelty she endured left cracks in her trust for humanity but also forged a disciplined, patient, and fiercely independent mind. Her first uncontrolled manifestation of magic occurred when she was cornered by bullies at the orphanage. Chaos surged from her fingers, scorching the floor and sending her tormentors fleeing. The eruption of raw power was dangerous but precise enough to reveal both talent and potential. This incident drew the attention of a visiting mage from Rissberg Academy, who immediately recognized the exceptional aptitude hidden beneath the orphaned child’s defensive cunning. The mage purchased her from the orphanage, effectively rescuing her from a life of squalor, and brought her to Rissberg Academy atop Mount Cremora, perched at the border of Temeria and Cidaris—a fortress and school known for producing sorcerers who would operate in the gray spaces of morality, politics, and power.Rissberg was unlike any institution Amara had known. Independent of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, it encouraged cunning, competition, and manipulation rather than strict adherence to law or dogma. Its walls were both a crucible and a playground, filled with secret passages, enchanted wards, and rivalries that were as much about intellect and strategy as they were about magic. Here, her foundational training from Maeralya gave her a decisive edge. She refined the elemental manipulation, telekinesis, teleportation, transformation, and telepathy that had been rudimentary under her mother’s tutelage. Beyond raw magic, she was taught the subtler arts: magical perception, divination, reading currents of Chaos, detecting the intentions of others, and subtly bending outcomes to her advantage.Yet Rissberg’s lessons were not confined to magic alone. Amara’s education extended into diplomacy, politics, seduction, and legal maneuvering. Lessons were practical and often perilous. She learned to negotiate with rival students, uncover secrets, manipulate perceptions, and leverage her knowledge for tangible advantage. Every duel, every academic trial, every test of cunning sharpened her strategic mind, blending intellect with raw magical skill. Her teenage years at Rissberg were grueling. She faced constant rivalries and morally complex challenges designed to push students to their limits. Tasks often involved controlling unstable Chaos in unpredictable conditions, navigating enchanted duels, unraveling complex magical traps, or orchestrating political intrigue against peers who were themselves brilliant and dangerous. Amara quickly learned to temper emotion with strategy, to turn trauma and hunger into discipline, and to treat grief as fuel for focus rather than weakness.By the time she graduated just before her thirteenth birthday, Amara was already a formidable sorceress. She blended intellect, cunning, and magical prowess into a single, coherent force. Where others might have faltered under fear or indecision, she acted with precision and foresight. Where others might have relied solely on raw power, she wove subtlety, diplomacy, and strategy into every spell and plan. Rissberg had not only honed her magic—it had transformed her into a calculated, resilient, and dangerously capable young woman, prepared to navigate courts, wars, and the labyrinthine corridors of politics with the same deftness as she wielded elemental Chaos.
Amara’s first assignment after Rissberg placed her in Kaedwen, where she remained for decades. She navigated complex court politics while pursuing research and travel. Kaedwen’s borders—Redania, Aedirn, Hengfors, and mountainous regions—provided a fertile ground for exploration, blending studies of history, archaeology, and magic. Her curiosity and intellect allowed her to merge arcane knowledge with cultural and historical insight, earning her a reputation for brilliance, resourcefulness, and ingenuity.
From ages 80–120 (993–1033), she attended Oxenfurt Academy, earning degrees in Natural History and Applied Archaeology. She began to break from the traditional path of serving a single court, offering her counsel to Xin’trea (Cintra) while continuing her travels. Between ages 120–220 (1033–1133), she served across multiple courts—Nilfgaard, Temeria, and others—while exploring Skellige and Zerrikania, studying exotic magic, cultural traditions, and political strategy. She earned the title of Master at Rissberg, one of only eighteen to be so honored.
Between ages 220–287 (1133–1200), she adopted a semi-nomadic lifestyle, traveling between Gors Velen, Rissberg, and multiple courts, pursuing research, language study, and magical experimentation. During this period, she encountered Yennefer of Vengerberg at the Aedirn court, forming a lasting bond. She also acted as Court Advisor and War Strategist in Kovir, assisting in the First Treaty of Lan Exeter and later navigating the Black Death outbreak in Vizima. She advised Calanthe of Cintra during crucial political events, including coronations and crises.
Throughout her life, Amara engaged in diplomacy, espionage, magical research, and archaeological exploration. She traversed nearly the entire continent, acquiring knowledge in mundane and arcane fields alike. By 1276, at the age of 363, she remains living.

Whether in fleeting encounters or playful one-night affairs, she carries herself with intelligence, charm, and a mischievous edge. Every liaison is marked by her wit and poise, a careful balance of teasing and testing boundaries, even when the connection is destined to be temporary.Yet despite her experience, Amara remains cautious when it comes to lasting love. Trust has never come easily to her, and though she has known affection and passion in many forms, true permanence has always eluded her. The scars of her past have left her wary of deep vulnerability, teaching her to find comfort in the moment rather than in promises. Short-lived connections and fleeting warmth offer her a sense of closeness without the risk of loss. To her, these moments are far from meaningless; they are reminders that she is still capable of feeling, still able to reach for intimacy even when her heart hesitates to stay.Beneath her composed and sometimes distant exterior lies a heart vast, gentle, and profoundly yearning. Amara longs to both love and be loved, to know the kind of devotion she so freely gives to her craft, her people, and her principles. The memory of her youth and the pain it holds still linger, whispering that love, like so much else, can be taken away. It is this quiet fear that keeps her guarded, even as her soul aches for something lasting and true.Amara considers herself pansexual, guided not by gender but by connection. She is drawn to intellect, depth, ambition, and that ineffable spark that sets one spirit apart from the rest. Whether through conversation, shared ideals, or the gravity of presence, it is the meeting of minds and souls that captures her interest most. She is currently multi-shipping, open to exploring dynamics and stories. However, single-shipping is a very real possibility!

#appearence

Amara is well known for her beauty as she is for her charm. Loose waves of raven black tresses are always seen meticulously curled, teased into cascading locks that sweep along prominent cheekbones to add contrast to the rose paleness her face takes, creating a heart-shaped visage. Cast in the fires of silent mischief and curiosity, eyes do not share appearance and are beautifully mismatched, vividly silver like that of a polished stone fetched from a bubbly rook is her left eye and a strikingly blue similar to that of a glowing garnet is her right, known for their charming gaze which conceals wisdom and imperiousness beyond that of her age; a penetrating icy gaze which can sour any mood should she wish but most commonly imitates warmth and care, causing those around her to be lulled into a false sense of security. Naturally sharp, dark brows rest above long matching lashes which adorn almond shaped eyes lined lightly with natural tones to make rich the colour of her hues. A small but fair nose, shapely, if albeit pale when not painted with wine-tinged pigments, made prominent and sweet by such colouring, proud lips. The priestess is slender, graceful, and taller than most knights of the known world. amara has full breasts, an ample waist and slender thighs. She has a deep, husked voice which sounds melodic. As is the custom of the red priests of her faith, amara's attire commonly only ever seen wearing a small collection of colours that include different variations of red. but saying that, there are times where she strays from the norm created, wearing colours of purple and shorter, more revealing fabric. despite being sold to the lord of light, she was one of few slaves who did not receive flames tattooed upon her visage, though she does possess markings in honour of R'HLLOR. Gathered after her long service to R'HLLOR and their followers, her lower back is decorated with red flames as a sign of her faith and devotion, an act of gratitude for the blessings they have given. There are stray scars here and there, gathered from moments of battle.

#personality

Strong heart for chaos beats within her breast, ensuring a resolute belief in testing the law and order of the world around her is kept, retained diligently. A woman of a tormented heart and broken mind, a spectator of some of humanities worst acts across her prolonged lifetime, Amara has an unwavering complex that may confuse many, a belief in the worst of others and yet unwavering hope for the best of humanity, and in spite of this, actively ensures that whilst friendships are shared, protection is always towering immensely high, giving her the upper hand and preventing her from experiencing agony that she experienced throughout her childhood. Paired together, she recognizes that it is through action and passion that change can and will come and that through order can come both peace and chaos. Driven and ambitious, Amara is a woman who allows nothing to get in the way of her goals and who takes little interest in things outside of them. This drive for chaos can be taken for a heart plagued by bitterness, vengeance, a rampaging mourning of a torturous childhood which claims innocence and ignorance as she goes. Amara is in total control of her emotions, recognising each of them and the reasons that they occur yet is ignorant to them, finding them, at times, to be utterly useless and only destined to guide her to immense agony and chooses to live life by the simplest of rules, to make money and gain security. Amara is as intrepid as she is impetuous, adaptable in nearly any circumstance. Reckless when it comes to her own life, the raven beauty is no stranger to brawls and has the charisma even to talk herself out should she choose. She is naturally playful, impish, and purposely mischievous in her motions. She is impulsive, a daredevil that prefers to live her life at the fullest even if the situations she finds herself within could end in death, something that Amara was not fearful of. Charming as she is cunning, mysterious as she is chaotic, deep down Amara is a victim of good intentions with a heart of gold which is only ever shown to the rare few that have managed to climb her towering walls. Talented in her own right, the woman is immensely gifted in theatrics, effortless to undertake a new personality in a matter of seconds in means of remaining secret, and as someone that lives a dangerous lifestyle, her loyalty dancing to her own beat and loosely to that who is holding the highest pay check, Amara has built a life that is filled with complicated and intricate multiple alias, and complex operations that has left her contently fighting back against the wealthy and protecting herself from the backlash that may arise by angered kings and the offended affluent while becoming wealthy in her own right. Amara has a firm rule of not stealing from the poor, only ever from the wealthy and the cruel.

#psyche

amara embodies the gifts of charisma and confidence, at ease within the midst of a boisterous crowd or by herself. this supports her innate curious nature and makes her ability to handle conflict undemanding, whether personally or professionally. her psyche can be described as extremely active, her mind always working no matter the time or circumstance. she is a visionary, thinking of the next steps and the possibilities of new combinations, inventions. however she's characterised by an often ruthless level of rationality, using drive, determination, and a sharp intelligence to achieve whatever objectives she has set. similar to a dog with a bone. amara likely is a sufferer from OCD, but if this is an extension of her PTSD or standalone is unknown. her intensity can sometimes rub people the wrong way, but ultimately, no offence is meant. the half-elf takes immense pride in both her work ethic and her impressive level of self-discipline. given her curious nature and ambition, if there is anything that amara loves, it’s a challenge, big or small, and she firmly believes that, given enough time and resources, any goal can be achieved. this is perhaps the reason behind her success as a advisor and researcher. the ability to think strategically and hold a long-term focus while executing each step of plans with determination and precision makes a powerful leader and advisor. amara's determination is a gift as much as a curse, pushing her goals through with sheer willpower where others might give up and move on, and she is likely to push everyone else right along with them, if involved, achieving spectacular results in the process. but this can come at a price. at the negotiating table, be it in a professional environment or a personal environment, amara is dominant, unforgiving, and unyielding. this isn’t because they are coldhearted or vicious per se – it’s more that the challenge is genuinely enjoyed; the battle of wits, and the repartee that comes from this environment. If the other side can’t keep up, that’s no reason for her to fold on her own core tenet of ultimate victory. she respects those who can match them intellectually and also display precision and quality in their actions, equal to her own. she has a particular skill in recognising the talents of others, and this helps in team-building efforts. she is usually friendly, no qualms with offering tenderness or friendship, even if cautious, and gregarious, but in the pursuit of success, competitive, strategic she can sometimes be blunt, critical, or impatient. her biggest weakness is possibly the battle of emotions. with severe trauma from her youth, amara tries to distance herself from her emotions and the possibly of further injury and/or rejection, but any forged friendship and/or bond are likely to live through centuries. she possesses a desperate desire to be loved, wanted after being ignored by her parents and under the abuse and cruel tutelage of the events that occurred after. she has her insecurities, like everyone else but restrains herself into hiding them and this can not only affect her psyche but her relationships.

#abilities

Red priests have demonstrated a number of seemingly magical abilities, from the relatively innocuous to the truly miraculous. However, it is unknown precisely how these abilities are acquired, and their effectiveness is not always certain. Indeed, sometimes the priests themselves express skepticism regarding magic, and cannot always explain why a certain effect took place.Amara has practiced her magic for years, believing there is always more to learn.
